Jason Tanamor (tan-uh-more) (he/him) is a Filipino-American writer and author.
Named as one of the "5 Best Modern Filipino Writers" by Pinas Global Newspaper and listed as one of Positively Filipino's "Fil-Ams Among the Remarkable and Famous," Tanamor is the acclaimed author of the Filipino themed novels Vampires of Portlandia; Love, Dance & Egg Rolls; and The Legend of Sensei Tsinelas.
He was nominated for the 2024 UCLA Allegra Johnson Literary Prize and the 2024 UCLA James Kirkwood Prize, and he has been featured in several Filipino publications like Esquire Philippines and CNN Philippines.
He also spent a decade as an entertainment writer and interviewer for Yahoo! (TV, Music, and Movies), interviewing the likes of author Chuck Palahniuk (Fight Club); comedians Dane Cook, Tracy Morgan, and Gabriel Iglesias; bands Smashing Pumpkins, Heart, Guns n' Roses, Garbage, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Judas Priest, and Jane's Addiction; and baseball legend Pete Rose. He has covered everyone from Steve Martin to Jerry Seinfeld and from Pearl Jam to President Obama.
He is a member of the Midwest Writing Center, Chicago Writers Association, Willamette Writers Association, Wisconsin Writers Association, and Authors Guild. He and his family currently live in Illinois.
